This project will explore novel research pathways towards a carbon neutral recyclability of monolithic lightweight concrete structures. The aim is a 100 % reuse strategy. With this in mind, the option of using recycled lightweight concrete as lightweight aggregate agglomerates and their recarbonation potential for as long as possible and ultimately converting this as ground lightweight concrete powder into a reactive and resource-saving SCM must first be developed. In this way, the CO2 sequestration potential of all porous lightweight concrete materials used needs to be intensively and systematically investigated, so that it can then be taken into account in the life cycle assessment. A series of recycling loops shall display the potential of lightweight concrete and establish a closed-loop sustainability model for lightweight concrete as a primary objective. It shall be accomplished by exploring multiple recycling processes for selected concretes. «
