The number and quality of cyberattacks are increasing constantly, presenting a challenge in terms of efficient detection and countermeasures. The Cyber Defence and Smart Data Research Institute (RI CODE) of the Bundeswehr University, Munich, is exploring possible applications of so-called cyber ranges – virtual training environments that allow realistic education and training of IT professionals in the field of cybersecurity and effective response to the emerging challenges.
