The development of improved turbulence models faces the problem of maintaining low computational cost and robustness while incorporating as much physics as possible. As a result turbulence model uncertainties are still a major obstacle for the predictive capability of RANS simulations. Hence, in order to achieve a more virtual design and certification process in aviation industry, quantifying the uncertainties in RANS simulations is of strategic importance and addressed within this project.
