Projektbezeichnung:
Efficient Turbulence Modelling for Vortical Flows from Swept Leading Edges
Projektbeschreibung:
The project aims to develop and optimize an efficient turbulence model suitable for the prediction of the formation and ineraction of leading-edge vortices on multiple-delta configurations, particularly such with control devices on the leading edge to tailor the edge vortices. Based on a classical RANS model like the Spalart-Allmaras model, which has become a general-purpose model in aircraft aerodynamics, the model will be adeapted for an optimal fit to a databse with a wide range of cases. The database will be gained from high-fidelity simulations, i.e. hybrid RANS/LES simulations, which produce the flow field in the most detailed affordable way. «
