Geometric acquisition of objects, for instance rail tracks, by multi-sensor systems today is often not performed by signalization of concrete points, but by the collection of mass data using terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry or comparable measurement procedures. Exemplary approaches to obtain object parameters from measurements of laser triangulation sensors by the rail track surveying system RACER II are given below. From the collected measurements, the interested rail track parameters are generated automatically. However, accuracy and reliability of the results have to be ensured and established equivalently.
